Principal's Message

The Mt. Lebanon Board of School Directors voted to approve Mr. Dan Ridge as the Interim Principal of Markham Elementary on August 11. Mr. Ridge will temporarily serve in the position until the new Principal of MES is named and arrives.

A social studies teacher at Mellon Middle School, Mr. Ridge brings over two decades of experience with the Mt. Lebanon School District, including a variety of leadership roles:

• Served as Interim Principal at Hoover Elementary School (April–June 2024)
• Mt. Lebanon High School (Unit Principal, 2019–2022)
• Mellon Middle School (Assistant Principal, 2017–2018)
• Head Coach of the 8th Grade Football Team since 2004

Mr. Ridge said, “I am very much looking forward to working with the Markham Elementary school and community in continuing to set the foundation for the community's children's success in education.” 

Mr. Ridge earned his Bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg University and a Master’s degree in School Administration from California University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Ridge is the proud parent of four Mt. Lebanon students.
